For the past 31 years, Rev. Ronald Liles Taliaferro has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and was called to preach the Gospel in 1977.  He received his license to preach the Word of God in 1979 under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Charles Walker and The 19th Street Baptist Church of Philadelphia Pa.

The Bright Side Baptist Church, Lancaster Pa, under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Louis Butcher, Jr., ordained Pastor Taliaferro in 1983. He completed his Theology studies in 1990, receiving a Bachelor of Theology Divinity Degree from the Philadelphia Bible College of Divinity.

Pastor Taliaferro is the former Pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, York Pa; where he served for 13 years.  He accepted the call to become Rose of Sharon Baptist Church second Pastor on May 24, 2004.  He delivered his first sermon as Pastor on June 6, 2004. 

Pastor Taliaferro has been blessed with the gift of Music.  He served as Minister of Music and Director for Mother Bethel AME Church in Philadelphia, Pa., St. Paul Baptist Church in Conshohocken Pa., Bright Side Baptist Church, Lancaster Pa. and Macedonia Baptist Church in Harrisburg, Pa. to name a few.  He is currently serving as the musician for the Adult & Youth Choirs of Rose of Sharon.

 For 25 years, Pastor Taliaferro worked for the Lancaster School District in Lancaster, Pa., as an Outreach worker and Assistant Choir Director for the J.P. McCaskey Gospel Choir.  He currently works for the Harrisburg School District of Harrisburg Pa., as an Attendance Officer and Clerk.

His community involvement includes the Past President of the Lancaster Branch of the NAACP, the past 3rd Vice President of the Pa. State Conference of the NAACP and Executive Board Member of the Harrisburg NAACP.   He serves as the Chairman of the City Wide Revival for the Interdenominational Minister Conference (IMC) of Harrisburg.

 

Pastor Taliaferro married the former Karen Austin of Philadelphia in September 1980.  They are the parents of five children and seven grandchildren.
